Birth of a Conservancy
Naboisho, Kenya
Coming Together For Wildlife
A new short film from filmmaker Toby Strong tells the story of the Maasai Mara North's Naboisho Conservancy — a name that means "coming together" in Maa, and a place built on exactly that. Pooled from the land of hundreds of Maasai families, Naboisho is one of Africa's most ambitious experiments in community-led conservation: wildlife and people sharing a future on the same ground.
At the heart of it is Svein Wilhelmsen, the Norwegian entrepreneur and founder of Basecamp Explorer whose decades of partnership with Maasai landowners helped turn an idea into a conservancy.
Amundsen is a proud sponsor of Naboisho Conservancy, and we're honored to share this film.
