i met the fonz this weekend
i met "the fonz" this weekend. each year i travel to a quiet school near a small town in southern michigan - starr commonwealth. they hold an event each year to commemorate the school and celebrate it's works. my first "founder's day" was 1968. i've only missed three since then.
anyway, each year they invite a guest speaker. this year it was Henry Winkler - 'the fonz' from the show "Happy Days." his talk was enlightening. not only was he entertaining and inspirational (the primary idea of the talks), he was surprising. he referred to Gurdjieff and Ouspensky more than once in his 45 minute talk. not bad from a man who claims he was an underachiever who ranked in the bottom three percent of his high school class.
i got a chance to shake his hand and talk ever so briefly with him. even got a pic snapped (he was working the room). hopefully, i'll get a copy of that photo soon. if so, i'll post it here, too.
