watched "Of Mice and Men" with the family this evening. this was the Malkovitch/Sinise version. not quite like the classic version from the 50s, but pretty good. my daughter read the book in school this year. bummed by the ending, of course. she told me to pick it up from the library, if i could. i tried to get the classic version, but had to settle for this one.

we all enjoyed watching it until you get about two-thirds through. when the inevitability of it all sets in. about then my daughter said out loud "why did i want to *watch* this?" we all nodded. but we continued to the end. kinda felt like we should, i guess.

all in all, a good rendition of a sad tale.
