did erlanger 5k in less than 32 min

at the last minute (meaning two days ago) i decided to run in my town's 5k event. this is the third year for the race, so it's kinda small. i like that, really. before the race, i chatted w/ a guy who confessed this was his very first race - ever. we ran together for a bit, too. he finished in about 35 in. not bad for a first timer!
it's nice that i can just 'hop in' to a race like this. feels good. or course, it's only 5k (3.1 miles). i've done two 10ks in the last year. hope to do at least one more before the end of 2007. the day when i can just 'hop in' to a 10k - well, that will be somethin'
