trying this thing out
well, it seems the blog app is getting fairly stable. i know this for a couple reasons. first, i haven't changed the underlying code for a couple weeks. that seems pretty stable. second, i've been spending quite a bit of time tweaking the XSLT. that means i'm dealing with the way it *displays*, not the way it *works* - another good sign. finally, i spent some time yesterday doing some optimizing things in the code. since optimizing comes late in the process (unless you commit the sin of pre-mature optimization), that's another good sign that things are coming to a close.
so, i'll be starting to ramp up the content-side of things here. sometimes that exposes other bugs or design problems. i'm ready for that[g]. in the meantime, i'll be using some pretty raw tools for editing things until i implement the rich editor and other admin-side stuff that's on my list. i figure that will take another week or so.
so, unless something 'bad' happens along the way, i should have a fully-functional blogging tool working before august. should be fun!
